So I can't say I'm really surprised with the result. I compiled and
installed Debian's hurd (not their gnumach or libc). The resulting
image now refuses to boot, giving a string of ominous warnings (no
socket drivers found, etc.) before culminating with "error 14".
Luckily I have everything backed up, I'll try actually compiling
gnumach and libc this time around.
